Our new after-school program
Dear PS 295 Caregivers,
We are excited to share that beginning on the first day of school, Thursday, September 4, 2025, PS 295 will partner with a new after-school program Right At School, a nationally recognized provider of enrichment-based childcare. This program will be available for all students in 3K through 5th grade and will run every day school is in session, from dismissal until 6:00 PM.
The program is designed to provide a safe, joyful, and enriching environment for students. Each day will include a healthy snack, structured homework time, STEAM-based learning activities, fitness and games, leadership development, and opportunities for social-emotional learning and creativity. Right At School’s curriculum is designed to foster curiosity, collaboration, and student voice while supporting academic and personal growth.
We are pleased to share that there are many seats available in the program, and we expect to be able to accommodate all families who wish to enroll. However, if the initial demand is especially high, Right At School may temporarily pause registration to ensure they have hired enough staff to maintain a safe student-to-adult ratio. Once additional staff are onboarded, registration will reopen. We encourage families to register early to help the program plan accordingly.
Right At School offers flexible enrollment options to meet the needs of families. Monthly rates for after-school care range from $141 for one day per week to $390 for five days per week. 3K/PreK rates range from $178 to $490 per month. Drop-in care and punch card options are also available, and discounts are offered for siblings, military families, NYC DOE staff, and families eligible for free or reduced lunch. A one-time registration fee of $75 applies.
To support families in learning more about the program, Right At School will host a Virtual Family Information Night on Tuesday, July 8th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The event will provide an overview of the program and answer any questions you may have. Enrollment will open the following day, on July 9th. Families can register here, selecting New York and Brooklyn, and choosing PS 295 from the list.
